Standard Bank Klein-Aus Vista MTB Challenge Entry Form 2018

Standard Bank Klein-Aus Vista MTB 2018 Event Program

Tips for tires: Due to the steep climb on loose terrain and some sandy stretches we recommend 2.35 tires and for those riding 12 x1 gear setting we suggest a 32″ front blade.

Similar to last year a Time Trial has been introduced for the 2018 MTB Challenge on the first day, in addition to the 2 stages of the marathon on day 2 and day 3. The Time Trial will follow a short 10-12 km technically demanding track and is compulsory only for the full marathon riders. The riding time of the Time Trial will be added to the riding time of day 2 and day 3 to calculate the overall riding time.
Upon arrival at Klein-Aus Vista on 3 May 2018, please register at the Desert Horse Inn parking area at the Standard Bank Gazebos with the race marshals. If you are participating in the Full Marathon, get ready to take part in the Time Trial that will begin at 3.00pm with start time intervals of 30 seconds between the riders. For the faster riders it will take 40 minutes and the slower riders 1h15min to complete the distance of 10-12km with an altitude gain of 375m. The Time Trial is compulsory for the riders taking part in the full marathon. Only riders that have registered for the full marathon will be allowed to ride the Time Trial.
On the mornings of 4 and 5 May the starting time for both Half and Full Marathon riders will be at 8.00am. The Half Marathon will cover a distance of 33km with an altitude gain of 735 meters and a riding time varying from 1h45 to 4 hours. The Full Marathon will cover a distance of 60 km with an altitude gain of +/-1450 meters and a riding time varying from 3h15 to 5 hours. On Day 3 we have added 25km of new track to ensure the riders who competed in the race before can find new challenges and vistas.
There will be 4 water & feed zones with marshal points en route. One tech zone will also be en route at Water Point A. For the fans there will be spectator points indicated on a map to follow the progress of the riders.
On each day there will be prizes awarded in 1st, 2nd, 3rd position in all categories
On the final day the first 3 overall male & female positions will also receive prizes while the Victor & Victrix Ludorum winners will each received a prize money of N$10 000.
This event is made possible by the title sponsor; Standard Bank Namibia together with Gondwana Collection, Candor IT, Electro Blitz and Maerua & The Grove Super Spar as main sponsors, Beyerskloof Wines and Namibian Breweries as other valued sponsors.
